Brexit aftermath: machinery transports to the UK today

After the official Brexit completion in early 2021, how EU–UK trade would actually work remained unclear. By now processes have settled.

Customs clearance required

Every shipment to the UK needs a complete customs declaration. We handle the export-side paperwork; on the import side the UK buyer must arrange their own EORI.

VAT and proof of sale

On sales to the UK, German VAT does not apply — provided export is fully documented. We provide transport papers as proof.

Ferry terminals: Dover and Calais

Most transports go via Calais–Dover. Plan for 4 – 8 extra hours for customs clearance on both sides.
